Custom Main Greeting

"Thank you for calling Acme Consulting. If you know your party's extension, please enter it now or press 8 for the dial-by-name directory. For sales, press 1. For support, press 2. Otherwise press 0 or hold for a representative"

When calling your GotVMail toll free or local number, callers will first hear your company's main greeting which you can record over the phone, upload online, or even have professionally recorded by our Voice Studio.

In the main greeting, you can instruct callers to choose an extension or press 8 for your company's dial-by-name directory. Once callers choose an extension, the call is forwarded directly to the phone number(s) for the person or department designated for that specific extension.

Multiple Extensions

Have both department and employee extensions on your GotVMail account. For example, assign single-digit extensions 1, 2, and 3 for sales, support, and billing departments, respectively, and then assign three-digit extensions 704 through 708 for individual employee extensions. Your callers can press extension 8 from the main menu to reach the dial-by-name directory.

Departments can all be handled by a single person (such as yourself if you are a single employee company) or by multiple employees either in a single office or scattered nationwide or around the globe. You can forward all department calls to one number (cell phone, home phone, office phone) and, with the Call Screening feature, still know which department the caller chose.

You can also provide callers with more information about your company such as store hours, directions to your office, and products and services.

Call Forwarding

GotVMail's hosted phone service is customizable for 1 or more employees, and works with any phone - including your home, office, VoIP, or mobile. It works from anywhere, on any phone, yet requires no additional equipment or software to purchase or maintain.

For example: After listening to your custom main greeting, a caller presses 1 for sales and is placed on-hold with music while the call is forwarded to the cell phone you have designated to receive sales calls. After answering your cell phone, you'll hear several options for how to handle the call: Press 1 to accept the call, press 2 to send the caller to the sales extension's voicemail, or press 3 to hear the caller's number.

If the caller leaves a voicemail, you can be notified in several ways: Have it emailed to you as an MP3 audio attachment, receive a text on your cell phone, or be called automatically on your phone. GotVMail can even send the message via MMS (multimedia message) to your mobile device.

Voicemails and Faxes

GotVMail allows you to easily access and organize all of your voicemails and faxes using any phone, online at myGotVMail or have them delivered to you with the Voicemail and Fax Delivery feature. With this feature, each extension can have different email addresses to send voicemails or faxes to.

GotVMail's Voicemail and Fax Delivery feature can also send voicemails and fax messages to your mobile device via multimedia message (MMS) or simply notify you of a new message via text message (SMS) or an automated phone call.

Each extension can have a unique set of email addresses and settings for notification and message delivery. You can even turn the GotVMail Voicemail and Fax Delivery options "On" or "Off" at any time and modify settings online through myGotVMail or by using any phone.
